Letterpress & Print Making Digital Compositions

It all started with a quote by Nelson Mandela,

"The greatest glory in living is not in falling, but in rising every time we fall."

I instantly connected the quote with the sun because it always rises after it falls. Using printmaking techniques, I created a series of deconstructed sunrises and sunsets. Also, I laid out the quote on the letterpress and slowly broke it down to make compositions. After having physical copies of both letterpress and printmaking, I scanned and manipulated them to create a new series of digital compositions.
