01
objective
Choose a global issue. Find a way to solve or improve the problem through the use of design. The final solution must be branded and ready to present to the public sphere.
02
research
I chose to tackle the issue of funding in public schools across Illinois. The research process took four months and included online research, visiting schools, and speaking to teachers. The results lead me to realize that schools need financial support as well as supplies, coats, boots, etc.

03
ideation
The biggest question was, "How do I impact viewers enough to compel them to visit the website?" Through several critiques, I chose a branding approach that I was passionate about and was eye-catching. Different, yet compelling.
04
branding
I chose to use a primary, pastel color scheme and illustrations to relate with education. The illustrations show the broken items in schools that need support. The branding is light and playful to lighten the mood for a very heavy topic. The solution needed to be inviting but not intimidating.

05
final concept
The final concept included bus stop posters, social media, and a website. The posters would compel viewers to visit the website where they can see the needs of specific schools in their area. School administration would be able to access the website to add and remove needs for their school. Viewers would sign up to search and fill the needs.
